Intraoral Cameras

What is an intraoral camera?

An intraoral camera is another type of advanced imaging equipment we use at Peak Dental Care to provide you with enhanced care and improved education. The intraoral camera is a small, pen-shaped camera that is inserted into your mouth to take up-close, high-resolution images of specific areas that need closer examination. The live, color images taken with the intraoral camera are then displayed on a monitor right in the treatment room, allowing Dr. Scott Lindsay to get a closer look at your teeth, gums, and other parts of your smile. Our team is then able to evaluate your oral health, diagnose dental problems, plan treatments, and explain this information to you, our patient. Using the images provided by the intraoral camera in Centennial, Colorado, our dentist is able to identify and assess dental problems like tooth decay, tooth fractures, injured gum tissues, receding gums, broken or chipped teeth, and swollen or infected gum tissues.

What are the benefits of intraoral cameras?

We are committed to patient education at Peak Dental Care; we believe that as you learn more about your dental health and treatments, you will be able to better take care of your smile and make informed, confident choices about your oral care. The intraoral camera helps us provide you with the education you need, as well as improving our ability to diagnose and treat dental problems. In addition, the images taken with an intraoral camera can be digitally stored and can be easily sent to other healthcare providers and insurance providers as needed.
